The 120W Legend is actually a killer speaker but it takes some power to move that cone. Yep metal guys like the tightness of that but I think in your case it’s just too much for someone looking for a lot of speaker break up, especially doing the stoner rock thing. We also sell the Jr cabs with Eminence Governors which break up a lot more (think 70′s era V30s), it comes in the Nineteen80 cab but can be requested in the Rev version. We’ve never had any Cannabis Rex speakers here but we can get any Eminence speaker a customer may want to put in!

The amp is actually a fixed bias amp so you can readily swap tubes out. As far as 6L6 tubes they’ll be too tall, you’d need to go with a 6V6…

hi, I bought the krank rev jr chrm, I love the head, its a cool little box but I thought i was going crazy, I thought I was a really bad player and that my guitar sucked… I realised it was the speaker. 120 watts is way too tin can for me. It works for the over distored drone technical shredding of most modern metal players but for me its crap! now i know your marketing is set on the modern metal, but for those of hard core back woods players perhaps offering the option a different speaker would broaden your client range… ie cannabis rex by eminence http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-detail/?model=Cannabis_Rex
seeing as most stoners are musicians… er strike that reverse it… the novelty alone will get your company lots of sales…
anyways, I love the rev jr but the speaker is a POS!

Hey I was just wondering if there is any kind of bias trim pot on these bad boys. I just ordered one, I can’t quite see on the picture whether or not there is one. If not, I was wondering how cold the bias is, I just don’t want any issues with blowing up power tubes. I just wanted to know what the amp could handle as far as replacement power tubes, I know screen resistors and such can get in the way, so I figure most 6l6gc style tubes yeah? I am assuming the 5881s are the wxt from sovtek, in which case they are closer to the 6l6gc than an older 5881 anyway. Thanks

Hey Dan it is a 400W class D module but in conjunction with the circuit design in the end the actual output of the head is around 200+ watts. And you are correct that if you went down to 2 ohms you would get more power out of it similar to a bass amp!

It says the amp can do 200w at 4 ohms. But the features list says it has a 400watt class D module.
Does that imply that Its 400W at 2ohms? And 100w at 8ohms and 50watt at 16ohm? Kinda like how a bass head works?

Could you clarify about the volume knobs on the REV SST. Are the volume pots “audio taper” or “linear” pots? I ask this because when the amp is dimed on the gain side and the volume is all the way off there is bleed or sound coming through. Could you clarify the purpose of this or am I missing something?

Hey man sounds like the Rev Jr. is probably more your deal. They have similar overall tones in their Jr versions but for what you’re describing you like I’d deff go with the Rev Jr. Pro as it does have the kind of clean you want and the midrange for metalcore…

The entire cab is made of the 13 ply baltic birch, you will find no particle board on any Krank cab!!!!
