Hi, recently I came across a really great deal for a Krank rev1 (not the plus model) and meetings as youtube the gear, wold you recomend it over the plus model and what are the differences?
Thanks – Brendan
Hey Brendan both amps sound great, the main difference between the two is the “+” model has bigger transformers which allow you to use basically any power tube you want (in our case we chose 6550s as stock) so it sounds probably a little wider and more aggressive. Also there’s the active fx loop and a boost revoicing button on the kleen channel. Having said that the original is no slouch and it’s a pretty subjective thing when asking which is better as we have some people who simply like one or the other better to their ears… I can say the original is probably a little smoother sounding which in part is due to it using 5881 tubes. But as far as if it’s a good amp yes it is!
