This 28-year-old Nashville native has over a decade’s worth of...
do you reckon this amp head would still sound good through a marshall
It does actually, it’s just the Marshall doesn’t have the ability to give you the full low end chunk you’d get from the matching Krankenstein cab. But if the budget is just enough for the head right now it will certainly sound good still…
i know the wattage is much different but the money is tight but would a creat cab work
Well the Crate cab won’t do the head justice but would get you by for the meantime. Not sure what Crate cab you have, if it’s one of their more expensive models it might be ok…but you will deff want to save up for the cab too as you will notice a GIANT difference between the two!
would the krankenstein head sound good and work good with a line 6 cab for a spider iii hd75?? and also how low can the price of the head come down to used or new in good condition
Hey Jacob it would work ok with that cab to start off with. That cab really is a mid price cab that doesn’t have the low end response that the Krankenstein cab would have but if cash is a consideration then you can always get the cab later! I can say the width and depth of the Krankenstein+ will be a huge difference in what you’ve had with the Line 6. As far as how low the price can go really that’s up to the market. If you’re looking for used gear spy eBay or craigslist and see..
hey my gain is compelety missing
I took it to the shop and they put new tubes in and a new transformer
but the gain is still gone
i dont know what to do

i have an krankenstein+ but wich cab is better for metal, death metal, etc? the stein-cab or the rev-cab?
Oh if you have the Krankenstein+ go with the matching cab, you will deff get the extreme metal tone with that combo!
I see that 120 Watts is mentioned, but is that Watts RMS or just plain Watts? Thanks for answering our questions!
Basically that’s 120W it’s rated at due to the power from the 6550’s we use, truthfully not sure what the RMS would be…all we know is it’s loud and rocks! Isn’t that really all that matters? :)
If I were to order a Krankenstein+ head direct from your store and decide that it wasn’t my thing, would I be able to mail it back and trade it in for a Rev+ or vice versa?
is ist right that there more mids ad krankenstein+? i’ve heard that the old stein sounds more heavier than the + model
Well really the “+” version has the same premp as the older version so no we haven’t changed the tone stack at all, it’s just the transformers got upgraded and we switched to 6550 tubes for the power section. And no I wouldn’t say the old version sounds heavier, actually it’s the other way around. There are distinct differences bewteen 6550s and 5881s that in the original version, with the 5881s being more smooth and the 6550 sounding more aggressive…
how much would a full stack of the krankenstein cost if i was to get it shipped to the uk
Contact us at sales@krankamps.com and we can figure out shipping costs-
Alright, let me start by saying I’m only 16, however, I’m a serious musician and have played for close to 10 years, so don’t treat me like crap for being so young, so once I get a steady job, I think I’m going to go with a Krank head, right now I have a Marshall head and cabinet, it’s nice, but it’s not giving me the sound I’m after. So my question is, for a good, tight metalcore guitar sound, what would be my better bet, this or the Revolution head?
Hey Josh either of those heads will be a massive improvement over the Marshall for what you like to play, as to which one is the best it’s kind of a matter of taste. The Rev + is a little cleaner sounding (yet very high gain) while the Krankenstein+ has more gain than even the Rev+ and sounds a bit more aggressive. I’ve seen metalcore bands use either one so it comes down what you might like in your overall sound…
hi there i have a krankenstein head and cab and it’s brutal! my question is what type of effecs loop is on the original head is it a series or parallel one cheers!
Series!
