Yo catero! You helped me out a lot a while back. I have another question. My Krank Rev1 has a very loud hum whenever I turn it on. I'm running it through a Mesa Cab. Could it be the tubes?

Well the main thing I use is an ISP Decimator pedal in front of the amp. They make a rack unit too but the stomp box version is more than fine and doesn't color any of the sound. I've found that's the best noise suppressor/gate out there...so if the one you picked up doesn't seem to do the trick I'd send it back and give the ISP a whirl!

Cheers for the advice, it is a big help. I tried what you have said and yes it does detract from the tone, not much though the mamp still sounds good but it doesnt sound as bright. I have bought a dedicated rack gate unit so hopefully this will work when it arrives. I only really want the gate function so if you guys also know of any devices that you could recomend that would be great. Im using an ESP with a set of EMGs.

Cool you're diggin' the amp! So there's a couple things here you can do. One you can try running the POD in the fx loop and see how the gate and compression react n it, if not you can run it in between the guitar and amp. One thing to keep in mind tho the POD, as cool as those little things can be, are somewhat cheaply built and can color the sound in a negative way. Obviously you won't know until you try it but if you notice a loss of tone while using the POD that's something you probably can't rid of. One other thing to be mindful of is using the compression in that can too affect the amp in a negative way if overused. The Kranks are made to sound big, fat and open and compression might "squish" out what makes the amp cool...

So I just received the Rev+ and its AWESOME. I do have a question though. I have a POD XT pro which I want to use for the Compresser/gate but Im unsure of the best way to hook this up to the amp. Have you guys got any advice about hooking up fx units to the Rev+? Also did I say this amp is AWESOME, cheers for doing such a great job on making this amp.

Hey Guys, if you're interested in the Rev1 ( + Cab 4x12 ) you can leave me a msg here -> doenerfestival@web.de

I'm possibly selling my beloved beasts (2nd hand) in Germany - so people across Europe have the chance to get their fingers on the Rev1 too ;)

Best Regards,

Laszlo

Yeah, space is an issue for sure. Thank you! You guys should advertise that your 120w Krank heads can also be used with the 1X12 cabs just like the 20 and 50 watt heads. Because, it looks like the 1X12 cabs can ONLY be used with the 20 or 50 watt heads.
