They make a rack unit too but the stomp box version is more than fine and doesn't color any of the sound. I've found that's the best noise suppressor/gate out there...so if the one you picked up doesn't seem to do the trick I'd send it back and give the ISP a whirl! One thing to keep in mind tho the POD, as cool as those little things can be, are somewhat cheaply built and can color the sound in a negative way. Obviously you won't know until you try it but if you notice a loss of tone while using the POD that's something you probably can't rid of. One other thing to be mindful of is using the compression in that can too affect the amp in a negative way if overused.
