The Rev Jr. cabinet is one versatile little cab! It was originally designed as a studio cab prototype at the Krank factory and was used a lot during the development of the Rev Jr. heads. We liked the look and sound so much what was going to be a combo became a stack!
It features the same construction as the Rev 4×12, using a solid poplar shell and is loaded with the same premium Eminence Legend V12 speakers. Because the Legend is rated at 120W this cab easily handles full size heads as well and is ideal for home rehearsal, studio use, club gigs, or personal onstage monitoring.
- 1×12 cabinet, shell solid poplar wood construction
- Loaded with premium Eminence Legend V12 speakers 16 ohms
- Measurements 15 1/2″ x 15 1/2″ x 12″
- Removable metal grill available in black or chrome

GEAR USED: Rev+, Nineteen80, Rev Cab, Nineteen80 Cab, Rev Jr. Cabs.
At the age of 8, I inherited a bass from my uncle, who died tragically in a motorcycle accident in San Leandro, CA.....
How does the Rev Jr. cabinet sound loaded with the Texas Heat Speaker? I want to match the cabinet to the Krankenstein Jr. head and still sound authentic.
Truthfully we tried the Texas Heats in the Rev Jr. cab with the Krankenstein Jr. and we just simply liked the Legend better in that application. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact the Texas Heat is rated at 150W and seemed to break better with the larger wattage full size Krankenstein. Tho tone is subjective and individual so if you decided you want a Jr. cab with a Texas Heat loaded in it that could be special ordered, you would need to call into the shop and ask for sales…
Can i plug the Krankenstein+ head for 4×12″ cab in the Jr. cabinet 1×12″ for home recording because i cain’t have a 4×12″ at home and i woul like to keep the soud of the Krankenstein+. Is it bether to use the Krankenstein jr in the rev jr. cab or the real big Krankenstein+ would soung bether?
You can deff use a Krankenstein+ into a 1×12 Jr. cab for home recording. As to whether you want to use the Krankenstein+ or the Krankenstein Jr. I’d say it’s really a matter of taste here and experimentation. Both will sound good! I used both on my own band’s latest album and had killer results with both. If you want to hear what I’m talking about there’s a tune on my artist page called “Dark Devotion” that is a combo of both, you can check it here….maybe that helps a bit?
is it closed back or open?
The Rev Jr. cab is a closed back cab stock…
Your measurements on the 1×12 cabinet are all wrong….
Yes they were! For some reason the big cab measurements were on there, thanks for the heads up!
The measurements still look wrong. For a 12″ speaker 2 out of 3 of the dimensions need to be larger than 12″.
Yep we struck out again…the head dims got put in! Should be fine now…and thanks for keeping us straight!!!! :)
Anyone ever try 2 of these together to make a 212? Krank discontinued their 212 so I’m thinking of ordering 2 of these little bad boys to run my Nineteen80 into…when it gets here!
Hey Adam yeah those little cabs will deff act as a 2×12 stacked together or side by side PLUS you have the ability of splitting them and making one a personal monitor in front of you, or having one on each side of the stage…very versatile!
ON MY 1X12 CABS THERE ARE 2 INPUTS/OUTPUTS ON THE BACK WHAT CAN I USE THOSE EXTRA JACKS FOR ? CAN I ADD MORE CABS AND DAISY CHAIN OR NO?
CAN THE REV JR HEAD PUSH MORE THAN 2 1X12 CABS? THANX RIPPER
Yes you can daisy chain 2 cabs together with the second jack! As far as what the Rev Jr. can push it will do a 4×12 fairly well!
I just picked up two of these in a trade. How would you recommend running them together? Should I run 2 outs from my amp, one into each cab at 8ohms? Or daisy chain them? If they are daisy chained, what do i set my amps resistance at?
Thanks,
Victor
Hey Victor can be done either way with no worries! The cabs are 16 ohms so when running two of them set the amp tot he 8 ohm setting…
Hey, i got the old Krankenstein and the Rev 4×12 cab for a very low price, problem is i underestimated the loudness :D so i´m thinking about selling the 4×12 and getting this 1×12. My question is how the loudness of 1×12 is compared to the 4×12? with the 4×12 my maximum without killing my pets and neighbours is vol. at around 2 :(( so basically i´m not quite sure if it would make any sense to buy the 1×12
Well it would be a lot lower in volume, even if you did two 1x12s. One other thing you could try as well is to get hotplate where you can still cook the head at normal volumes but attenuate the hotplate and bring the sound levels down….
is the speaker front loaded or rear loaded?
Front loaded…
Can one Krank Rev Jr. 16 Ohm speaker cabinet be used with an amp that is not 16 Ohms. Like an amp with an 8 ohm or 4 ohm speaker out?
Yeah it can be used it just won’t be as ideal. Typically when using a lower ohm cab than the head you will notice it not quite being as loud. Of course a great way to solev that problem here is get two Jr. cabs and the ohms will drop to 8!
Can this little guy be spec ordered w/ an 8 ohm speaker? Say a Emi Governor or the like? Thanks.
Unfortunately we don’t carry any 8 ohm speakers here at Krank. However you can always get an 8 ohm speaker after market and load it in…we can do the 16 ohm Governor tho.
Think a Krank revjr. cab would sound good with a Crate blue voodoo?
The Jr cab usually sounds good with most amps, never ran a Blue Voodoo thru it but I’d prob say so…
Hello! I have just got a new Revolution jr Cab 1×12 and the speaker inside only have a sticker on the side of the magnet that say´s it´s a:
KrankV1216
122207
67-1107A 0062 L1
Here on you´re website it says that it should be an Eminence V12 Legend speaker. Howe come it´s not the same, or is it?
It is the same! Those speakers are just made for us in 16 ohms and the sticker is abbreviated…
OK, thank you for you´re quick answer, I am happy with that!
Ok i try again. I have just got an Revolution Jr Cab and i have seen here on you´re website that they come with an Eminence Legend speaker inside. In my Cab there is an speaker with a small sticker on the side of the magnet that say´s KrankV1216 122207 67-1107A 0062 L1. Is it an Eminence legend speaker or not?
Hey,
I just got a Krankenstein 50w head and Rev Jr Cab. To hook it up do I just need to have the head on 16 ohms and use one line from the head to the cab?
As for the 50w vs 20w heads, how can you tell them apart? I think mine is a 50w but how do I know for sure?
Thanks.
Yep just the 16 ohm position…and the easiest way to tell the difference between the 20W and 50W is the 50W has a much taller transformer that goes close to the top of the head box…
